The Golden Rule for Building Authentic Connections

Courage is often described as having the heart of a lion. But when we look closer at how lions live, we see something deeper. Lions survive and thrive through connection. They hunt together, raise their young together, and protect each other as a pride. Their strength is not just individual, it is communal.

Even I need support, especially within the LGBTQIA+ community. Being around people with similar goals and beliefs helps propel me forward. My mental health depends on being surrounded by people who accept me and love me just the way I am.

Being part of a community does more than make you feel supported. It strengthens your sense of self-worth. Knowing that others understand and accept you is a reminder that you belong.

So be courageous and put yourself out there. Volunteer, join a support group, or take the first step toward connection. The courage of a lion is not just about standing tall. It is also about having the strength to lean on your pride. Give yourself permission to be vulnerable, to connect, and to let others support you.
